Sky Angel TV - A Light in a Dark TV World

Picture
My wife and I have two daughters who are both all grown up with kids of their own, but when they were little my wife and I would do everything we could to protect them from seeing and hearing things on television that we didn’t think were appropriate.

TV is now an major part of life for the average American family.  It seems that people are spending more and more hours stuck in front of the TV.  It’s not an evening activity for the family anymore, but something kids do when they come home from school, and parents watch TV while they make breakfast or dinner.  You can find a television in every home, usually 3 or 4 in the average home.  There’s a place for the TV in the family room, a spot for it in the kitchen, a smaller one in the den, and of course, a TV in the bedroom.  Falling asleep watching TV is very common for many people, and lots of people wake up to the TV too…then there are people that wake up AND go to sleep watching TV.  Television is more than a big part of people’s lives…it is a HUGE part.

While our girls grew up, we monitored everything they watched closely.  We didn’t want our babies to watch anything that was inappropriate for kids.  My wife and I like to lead by example, so needless to say, we didn’t watch anything that the girls weren’t allowed to watch. So this is how it went for a while, and the cable bill kept coming every month, and every month we would pay it, but we just weren’t getting our money’s worth.  We were paying so much for cable, but there weren’t a lot of choices when it came to family-friendly programming.  There came a time when we finally said enough is enough, we cancelled our cable and went “TV Free”.

At first, we were worried that the kids wouldn’t be able to do without cable, but they weren’t affected much which was very surprising to both my wife and I.  We explained to the girls why we got rid of the cable, and they understood even though they were still a bit young.  We went cable free for seven years, filling the gaps with the occasional movie rental, mostly family-friendly stuff.  Without the TV to distract them, the girls did more constructive things, playing with toys, playing board games, playing outside, riding their bikes, things that kids should be doing.

After several years with no TV, other than the occasional video rental, we started looking for some kind of alternative to cable that would give us clean TV, without the worries of foul language, extreme violence or scantily clad females prancing across the screen.

It didn’t take us long to find the solution to our searching. We had heard of Sky Angel TV at some point in the recent past, but we didn’t know what was required to get their service. As it turned out, this was a family-friendly, faith-based TV service that required a satellite dish and a satellite receiver in order to get their programming.  So we found out how much it would cost us and started saving our pennies, looking forward to being able to order the needed equipment.

After 10 years Sky Angel still has the best family programming.  Even though the girls are both grown up, married and out of the house, my wife and I still watch it!  Plus, we don’t need the satellite dish anymore because you can find the Sky Angel lineup of channels on IPTV.

In the past few years, IPTV has created three distinct entertainment packages.  First, there is the faith-based package, next is the family package, and the third being a combination of the two faith-based and family packages. If you’re concerned about what comes into your home, and want a safe alternative to cable, then choosing any of these 3 packages will give your family exactly what you’re looking for.

So if you’re stuck trying to find an alternative to cable TV, then you should check out Sky Angel TV.  They’ve got clean, fun, family-friendly programming with no worries. I think you’ll like their programming…we still do!
